Launched in 2017 by popular demand from our parent community, our Bilingual Kindergarten program is designed to make life easier for busy families.
With flexibility and family time in mind, we provide a structured yet nurturing environment that prepares children for public or private primary school. Our program offers a seamless continuation of the educational journey at KiddieLand, supporting children through the exciting transition to 1st grade – academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our Kindergarten lessons run over 3.5 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Wednesday mornings), with Wednesday afternoons and Fridays available as optional extended care. Fridays are lesson-free to give families the opportunity for long weekends and more quality time before the more structured primary school years begin.
Unlike childcare, our Kindergarten program features a dedicated bilingual structure.
German is exclusively spoken in the mornings and at lunchtime by our German teacher, while afternoons are led by our English teacher. This structured bilingual approach ensures fluency and confidence in both languages, with individualized support where needed.
Led by a specialized nature teacher, in the fresh air, the children explore, discover, and continue their education in a hands-on, natural environment. This immersive experience fosters a deep connection to nature and perfectly complements their structured lessons in-house.
We close for three weeks per year: two in August and one between Christmas and New Year. During Zurich Public holidays, we pause regular lessons but offer engaging project weeks with the same trusted teachers. Families can take holidays or continue with our care, ensuring continuity and flexibility.
With a small class size, each child receives personalized attention in a familiar setting. We prepare children not only academically for primary school but also focus on their social-emotional development—boosting confidence, adapting them to new environments, and equipping them with life skills such as independence, empathy, and cultural awareness.
Our Kindergarten is housed in spacious, well-lit classrooms with high-quality furniture.
A private garden provides ample space for outdoor play and exploration, further enhancing the children’s learning experience. With 40% of our second floor dedicated exclusively to the Kindergarten, we ensure a comfortable, stimulating environment that our little students call their own.
we provide a nurturing, flexible, and enriching experience that supports your child’s academic and personal growth.

Our learning environment is also deeply inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which fosters creativity, collaboration, and a strong sense of community. We bring this approach to life through:
Interactive Areas: Classrooms are divided into zones that encourage exploration and group activities, facilitating open-ended projects and collaborative learning.
Diverse Materials: Art supplies, natural elements, and recycled materials are readily available to inspire creativity and hands-on experiences.
Dynamic Displays: Children’s artwork and projects are displayed throughout the classroom, reflecting their interests and achievements in an ever-evolving manner.
In our infant and toddler classrooms we embrace the Pikler approach, which highlights the importance of self-directed play and freedom of movement. Our spaces are thoughtfully arranged to reflect this philosophy:
Climbing Structures: Encouraging physical exploration and helping children develop motor skills at their own pace.
Sensory-Rich Materials: Items like wooden blocks and sensory balls are accessible on low shelves, inviting independent play and movement.
Natural, Simple, Passvie Toys: We use open-ended, adaptable toys that support the development of autonomy and confidence.
By designing our classrooms to invite curiosity, we allow each child to engage with their environment in ways that suit their individual needs and interests.
